Dinamo Tbilisi faced the Armenian champions Alashkert for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round on 19 July at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
Both teams had spells of dominance during the match, which finished in a 1:1 draw in the end. The scoring was opened by Dinamo’s Jaba Jighauri on 21 minutes, with the hosts equalizing through Gyozalyan after the break.
Thus, the Tbilisians won the tie 3:1 on aggregate, and proceeded through to the next round, where they will face the winner of the encounter between Vardar Skopje of Macedonia and Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia. These sides will be facing each other in Zagreb on 20 July, with the match beginning at 22:15 Tbilisi time.
