Following an invitation from UEFA, a delegation from the Georgian Football Federation attended two games of the under-19 European Championship finals in Stuttgart on 13-15 July. The 2017 edition of this tournament will be hosted by Tbilisi, and the aim of the visit was to familiarize the organisers with the circumstances.
The visit to Stuttgart was conducted by GFF Vice-president Nika Jgharkava, marketing manager Zurab Sukhishvili, grassroots football development manager Giorgi Akhvlediani, head of events Irakli Nakaidze, head of the logistics department Giorgi Revazishvili and youth national team media manager Kakha Shalamberidze. Aside from watching the two group games, they also attended UEFA seminars, where UEFA representatives expressed their hope that in active cooperation with state institutions, the Georgian Football Federation will be able to present itself well as host of next year’s European Championships.
