The Georgian Football Federation has started the club licensing process for the 2025/2026 UEFA season.
On 24 December, the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium hosted a meeting of GFF's Club Licensing and Monitoring Administration with the clubs that are expected to apply for a UEFA license. The meeting was attended by representatives of the ten clubs of the 2024 Erovnuli Liga and the top four clubs of the Women's League 1, as well as Davit Kipiani Georgian Cup holders FC Spaeri.
The attendees were introduced to the results of the previous licensing cycle and the innovations being introduced in the current licensing cycle. The clubs learned about the changes to the licensing regulations and the new requirements that they must meet in order to obtain a UEFA license. They also discussed problematic licensing issues and development prospects.
The licensing process will enter its active phase in January, when clubs will begin submitting the licensing documentation. The decisions on which clubs meet UEFA's licensing requirements will be announced in the spring.
