The Georgian Football Federation has formalised a new agreement with Vladimir Weiss. The Slovak coach will remain in charge of the Georgian national team until the end of 2020. His coaching staff will also remain the same.
Vladimir Weiss became the head coach of the Georgian national side in March 2016, and has taken charge of the team in 40 matches. Under his leadership, Georgia won its group in the D League of the inaugural UEFA Nations League, and is due to compete in the play-offs for a place at next year’s European Championship.
Initially scheduled for March 2020, the play-offs have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and are currently due to take place during the autumn of this year.
