The Georgian Football Federation has presented its Football Development Programme to the public. The presentation took place on 18 February at the Courtyard Marriott hotel. It was attended by representatives from football circles, as well as other specially invited guests. The five-year Football Development Programme was also studied by business and media representatives.
The development programme was presented to the attendees by the GFF president Levan Kobiashvili, general secretary David Mujiri, and vice-president Nikoloz Jgharkava. The said project was created at the behest of the Georgian Football Federation, and was approved by the government of Georgia on 4 February. Its total budget will amount to GEL 265.7 million.
The state programme’s main components are defined as follows: a reformed domestic championship; a new programme of club funding; modern standards of football management; football education programmes; a competitive football environment; mass-appeal of the game of football; support for youth football; and a new regional management system. The said programme will be executed by the Football Development Fund.
