The European Under-19 Football Championship trophy has begun its journey across the country. The main prize of the tournament, which is to be held in Georgia, arrived in the city of Gori on 14 May.
The event in Gori – one of the tournament’s host cities – was attended by leading figures from the Georgian Football Federation, the European Championship ambassador Zurab Khizanishvili, as well as local government representatives.
Also today, the countdown clock was launched on the main square in Gori, reminding the locals and visitors of the tournament’s start date.
The European Championship trophy is set to visit several Georgian cities prior to the start of the tournament. The cup is to be displayed at the Ivlita Jibuti Library in the town of Chokhatauri at 15:00 on 15 May.
The European Under-19 Championship tournament will take place on 2-15 July, with eight teams contesting the matches in Tbilisi and Gori.
