Vladimir Weiss names Squad for the Upcoming Friendly Games

The Georgian national team head coach Vladimir Weiss has named his 25-man squad for the upcoming trip to Europe. The team will be flying out to Austria on 24 May, where they will hold a training camp near the city of Linz. On 27 May, Georgia will face the national team of Slovakia in Wels. It will then play Romania in Bucharest on 3 June, and Spain in Madrid on 7 June. All three opponents are in the process of getting ready for the Euro 2016 tournament.

There are three debutants in Vladimir Weiss’s squad: the US-born defender Zourab Tsiskaridze, who plays for Teplice in Czech Republic, will represent Georgia for the first time. Dinamo Tbilisi midfield pair Jaba Jighauri and Vakhtang Chanturishvili has also been called up for the first time.

Krylia Sovetov goalkeeper Giorgi Loria will not be available to Mr. Weiss due to an injury, while Giorgi Aburjania of Gimnastic de Tarragona and Giorgi Chanturia of MSV Duisburg will join the team after the Slovakia game, as their club sides have crucial league games coming up.
