The 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship final tournament draw has been made by tournament ambassadors Ianis Hagi and Aleksandr Iashvili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 16 teams: co-hosts Georgia and Romania, the nine qualifying group winners, the best runners-up and the four play-off winners, have been split into four groups for the finals, which run from 21 June to 8 July. Georgia will play in group A along with Portugal, Belgium and Netherlands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Group A<\/strong>: Georgia, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands<\/p>\n\n\n\n Group B<\/strong>: Romania, Spain, Ukraine, Croatia<\/p>\n\n\n\n Group C<\/strong>: Czechia, England, Germany (holders), Israel<\/p>\n\n\n\n Group D<\/strong>: Norway, Switzerland, France, Italy<\/p>\n\n\n\n The draw ceremony also was attended by GFF president Levan Kobiashvili, GFF general secretary David Mujiri, GFF first vice-president Kakha Chumburidze and head coach of the U-21 National Team of Georgia Ramaz Svanadze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt is truly special for our country to be hosting an event of this magnitude. The fact that one of the most prestigious European team events takes place in Georgia is a sign of great trust towards us. Active preparations are underway both in terms of organisation and infrastructure projects. Most importantly, our U-21 national team is successfully preparing for the upcoming event. I believe that the team has both the will and the ability to compete successfully at this tournament, particularly as hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our youngsters are successfully competing in various European leagues, which increases public interest towards the game. During the U-21 European Championship, we will also see numerous young stars from other countries play in Georgia.
